Tierhaus Jan
Introducing Tierhaus, Edinburgh’s space for music and dance lovers.
Inspired by seminal 90s electronic music culture, Tierhaus aims to bring together the Haçienda, Rezurrection, the Love Parade (just to name a few), and bring the communal spirit of 90s rave and dance music culture into 2026. Expect soulful, groovey house music rooted in 90s club culture with driving basslines and vocal hooks built for long, ecstastic moments, all in a unique setting at the heart of Edinburgh’s infamous Summerhall arts complex.
Headlining our first iteration is Steve Hellier, original member of Death in Vegas, and current owner of Discrete Records, a house-based record label from London. Expect a deep, driving set that nods to the era where rave, acid and experimental dance music collided, while still feeling firmly rooted in the present.
Warming things up is Kieran Tahir, serving a funky set designed to ease dancers into the space and set the tone for a long night on the floor - guaranteed to fill the floor.
The event takes place in Summerhall’s Dissection Room, a former veterinary anatomy theatre where animals were once examined and studied, now transformed into one of the city’s most striking performance spaces. Now a hub for experimental arts, music and performance, Summerhall has become synonymous with boundary-pushing programming and unconventional venues. This night taps directly into that spirit: a rave rooted in history, culture and space.
